About Us

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) is a professional accountancy body in Malawi which was established out of a merger of the Public Accountants Examination Council of Malawi (PAEC) and the Society of Accountants in Malawi (SOCAM). This followed the passing and coming into effect of the Public Accountants and Auditors Act (Act No.5 of 2013). ICAM is a full member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA).

as a people who are being drilled for stewardship accounting, is it not possible for us to get organized, and have our humble voice heard by the minister of finance, both current and future, on how fairer they could be by relaxing the income tax band to the miserable average malawian worker, whose take home pay is chicken feed?

i feel we ought to do something to contribute to our economy by taking part.
improved take home pay can never be inflationary, not in our economy. unless if all workers had a six digit salary.
